The British believes knockout is the best way to lose
Former World Champion contender Derek Chisora shared his expectations from the second fight Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua.
Chisora believes that the Ukrainian has a chance to end the fight with an early victory thanks to a knockout in one of the last rounds.
“If Joshua gets knocked out, it will be better for him. If he loses on points, he will blame himself for the next 20 years. But if he gets knocked out, he might say, ‘I got knocked out. I can’t help it when I get knocked out in the fifth round. If it came to the sixth round, I would be done with him,” Chisora said.
“When I lost by knockout to Dillian Whyte, I didn’t complain, did I? No. I was fucking knocked out. But when you get knocked out, in boxing that’s the best way to lose. Usyk can only knock out Joshua in the later rounds. In the first eight, Joshua knocks him out.”
Chisora fought Usyk in October 2020, losing to the Ukrainian via unanimous decision.
The Briton claimed the WBC heavyweight championship belt, but in 2012 he lost in the title fight to the Ukrainian Vitali Klitschko.
Usyk’s second fight against Joshua will take place on August 20 in Saudi Jeddah. WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight titles will be at stake.
