Absolute world champion in super middleweight Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (60-2-2, 39 KO) confidently defeated the junior middleweight champion Jermella Charlo (35-2-1, 19 KO).
Canelo dominated the entire fight. In the seventh round, Alvarez knocked down his opponent, who dropped to one knee. At the end of the match, all judges gave the victory to Saul – 118:109, 118:109 and 119:109.
The fight took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, USA. Alvarez defended his titles and also received the special WBC “Puebla Belt”. Let us note that with the first blow of the gong, Charlo lost the WBO junior middleweight championship belt, which he was supposed to defend in a fight with Tim Tszyu.
Let us remind you that Ukrainian Alexander Gvozdyk fought on the undercard of the Alvarez-Charlo fight. The former world light heavyweight champion knocked out Brazilian Isaac Rodriguez in the second round.
