Wilder: Fury will put his weight on Usik

The American bets on his former rival

Former World Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder shared his expectations from the likely fight for the status of absolute world heavyweight champion between the Ukrainian Alexander Usik and British Tyson Fury.

“Size is what allows Fury to succeed. When I imagine the fight between Fury and Usik, I remember the fight between Tyson and Cunningham. He put weight on his opponent and beat him up, I see the same thing in this fight. He will put pressure on Usyk with his weight.

I do think Usyk has more skill, but when it comes to size and everything else, I doubt he can compete with a fighter like Fury. Who knows what will happen? This is just my opinion,” Wilder said.

Usyk and Fury have signed a contract to fight for the undisputed heavyweight title. It was reported that the fight is planned to take place on December 23 or January 2024 in Saudi Arabia.

It is expected that the date of the Usyk-Fury fight will be officially announced after Tyson’s fight with Francis Ngannou, which will take place on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
