Olympic boxing champion Rakhim Chakhkiev told that a possible revenge by the Russian Murata Gassieva and the Swede Otto Wallin is not of much interest to the company.
On Saturday in Belek, Turkey, Gassiev lost to Wallin by split decision. After the fight, the Swede said he was not interested in a rematch.
“If at first Murat doesn’t do anything, then it starts to fade away. His strength lies in the early rounds; prolonged fights are not good for him. There are big boxing fans who would be interested in a rematch. But in general, I don’t think it’s very interesting for the audience,” Shakhkiev told .
Former WBA and IBF cruiserweight champion Gassiev has 30 victories (23 by KO) and two defeats. The Russian has been competing in the heavyweight division since the fall of 2020 and has earned four debut victories during that time. In March this year, Gassiev received Armenian citizenship.
