Gvozdyk: Canelo came into fight with Charlo in the form that made him who he is

The Ukrainian boxer is pleased with his victory over Rodriguez and is impressed by Canelo’s confident performance

Former world light heavyweight champion Alexander Gvozdyk commented on his victory over Isaac Rodriguez, as well as the central fight of the boxing evening in Las Vegas between the absolute world champion in super middleweight Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and absolute champion in junior middleweight Jermell Charlo.

“Overall, I’m pleased with the victory over Rodriguez. There’s really not much to say.”

“Regarding the main fight, it was a good performance from Canelo. He, it seems to me, approached the fight with Charlo in exactly the form that made him who he is. Very cool!”

“In this fight, the rule “Everyone does exactly as much as the opponent allows” worked for both boxers. Charlo felt Canelo’s power and almost immediately went into survival mode, making Alverez’s task easier. However, I think the American’s decision was forced by possible consequences for his health.”

Let us remind you that the Ukrainian boxer knocked out the Brazilian boxer Isaac Rodriguez on the undercard of the Canelo-Charlo fight. The central fight of the evening ended with a confident victory for Saul “Canelo” Alvarez by unanimous decision.
