Briedis: Fury will get to Usik’s head and take him out

Latvian boxer gives advantage to Gypsy King in fight with Usik

Former WBC world cruiserweight champion Mairis Briedis commented on the upcoming fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion between the WBC world champion Tyson Fury and champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO versions Alexander Usik.

“I believe this fight will be a great gift for boxing fans. I think the whole world will be watching this fight. Tyson Fury will fight in much the same style as he did with Steve Cunningham.”

“I think the first six rounds will be very close, and then Fury will get to Usyk’s head and take him out. This is my forecast. I think size matters in this fight.”

The unification fight between Usik and Fury was planned for April 2023, but it did not take place. According to the British, this happened due to the financial demands of the Ukrainian. According to manager Egis Klimas, the Gypsy King team demanded too much, no matter how much Usyk compromised.

Usyk and Fury have signed a contract to fight for the undisputed heavyweight title. It was reported that the fight is planned to take place on December 23 or January 2024 in Saudi Arabia.

It is expected that the date of the Usyk-Fury fight will be officially announced after Tyson’s fight with Francis Ngannou, which will take place on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
