Dalakyan: The first stage of preparation for the fight with Akuyi has already passed, now we are thinking about how to bring sparring partners to Ukraine

The fight will take place in Tokyo on November 15

Ukrainian WBA bantamweight title holder Artem Dalakyan spoke about how his preparations for the fight with the mandatory challenger are progressing Seyigo Akuyi from Japan.

“We have already started preparing for the fight. The first stage has already passed, it lasted three weeks, it was a general physical training training camp. From Monday I begin a sparring session that will last five weeks.”

“We are now thinking about how to bring sparring partners to Ukraine. Because of the war in Ukraine, many sparring partners are simply afraid to go. I think that we will resolve this issue with the president of the company. The first week I will train with our boxers, and from next week there will be foreigners,” Artem summed up.

Let us remind you that the date and location of the fight between Ukrainian and Japanese boxers became known earlier. The fight will take place on November 15, 2023 at the Ryogoku Kokugikan Arena in Tokyo.

Dalakyan fought his last fight in January 2023, when he defeated Costa Rican David Jimenez and defended his championship belt. The fight lasted all 12 rounds, but the judges gave the victory to the Ukrainian by unanimous decision.

Dalakyan, 36, won the world title in 2018.
