Hearn: Whatever the outcome of the Usyk-Fury fight, they will have a rematch clause

The well-known promoter believes that the two champions will meet in the ring more than once, regardless of the outcome of the first fight

Promoter Eddie Hearn revealed one of the important details of the contract between the WBC world champion Tyson Fury and champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO versions Alexander Usik to fight for the undisputed heavyweight title.

“I would say that Fury will earn about $100 million for the fights with Ngannou and Usyk. Perhaps 30 and 70, 30 and 80 million – something like that. But I heard that whatever the outcome, they will have a rematch clause. So he’ll probably get even more.”

“Perhaps Usyk wanted a rematch clause. Imagine if I told you that I will pay you a certain amount for the first fight and guarantee the same amount for the rematch. You’ll say, “Damn it, I’ll do it.” Do you understand what I’m talking about?

The conclusion of a contract between the parties of Usik and Fury became known on September 29. The preliminary dates for the fight are December 23 or January next year.

It is expected that the date of the Usyk-Fury fight will be officially announced after Tyson’s fight with ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou, which will take place on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
