Ukrainian and British boxers may never again compete for the title of absolute champion.
Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury may never meet in the ring again. This was announced by the promoter of the British boxer, Bob Arum.
According to a well-known functionary, everything will depend on the fight of the WBC super heavyweight champion against Francis Ngannou. If the boxer avoids injury, the date of the fight will be finally announced.
“The date depends, first of all, on Fury’s condition after the fight with Ngannou. If Tyson avoids injuries and cuts, the date will be announced sooner or later. But it will be in the winter. It will be in the winter and definitely before Ramadan (starts March 10 – approx.).
The deal with the Saudis, Warren and us is that they take our advice, but they invest money. And if they invest money, they have the right to name the date, time and everything else. I’m not too thrilled with the timing of the announcement. But again, they know more than I do about what’s going on in the kingdom and stuff like that, so we go along with it,” Arum was quoted as saying by Boxing Scene.
Let’s remember that earlier the legendary Riddick Bowe gave advice to Fury in the fight with Usyk.
