The undefeated Croatian heavyweight really wants to be world boxing champion.
Filip Hrgovic criticized the IBF on the Usyk-Fury fight. The undefeated Croatian heavyweight hopes the organization will ban the fight and oblige the Ukrainian to defend his title.
Instead, the International Boxing Federation simply decided to prevent a rematch between the boxers.
“The IBF assured me that if I win my fight and Usyk beats Dubois, they will make sure I maintain my mandatory status to fight Usyk.
The winner must meet with me immediately after their fight, without any intermediate fights. So I plan to fight for the world heavyweight title early next year.
I’m disappointed with the delay, but I’ll be ready and I won’t let it get in the way of my main goal of becoming world champion. Either Fury or Usyk, my time is coming,” ESPN quoted Hrgovic as saying.
