Suleymanov’s successful debut, Khomutov’s victory and other results from ONE Fight Night 36

Four Russian fighters performed at the ONE Friday Fights 36 tournament, which took place in Bangkok on October 6. Two of them won.

Flyweight MMA: Suleymanov vs. Mamytov

Russian Zainudin Suleymanov made a successful debut in the ONE Championship and earned the seventh consecutive victory of his professional MMA career. In the second round, he stopped Kyrgyz athlete Adilet Mamytov by technical knockout. Before meeting Suleymanov, who represents the Dobrynya Hall, Mamytov was undefeated. His record is now six victories and one defeat. Suleymanov is still undefeated.

Zainudin Suleymanov is the winner of the Russian pankration championship, medalist of the MMA World Cup. Before signing with ONE, he also had victories in hand-to-hand combat and wushu sanda competitions.

Light Muay Thai: Gabov vs. Suman

Vladimir Gabov, 25 (19-5 in kickboxing and Muay Thai), had a second unsuccessful fight in ONE, and lost again by decision. In the first round of the fight against Elad Suman, who represented Ghana and Israel, Gabov worked in a kickboxing style, and Suman until the end of the round did a good job avoiding punches and kicks from the opponent, but at the end of the round Gabov managed to catch up with his opponent. In the second round, both opponents maintained a high pace, Suman demonstrated elbow work from the clinch and excellent jumping knee strikes. By the third round, it was clear that Gabov was starting to run out of steam, but continued to advance thanks to his strong will. For Suman, this victory was the seventh of his professional career and the first under the auspices of ONE.

Bantamweight Muay Thai: Khomutov vs. Ponsiri PK Saenchai

The representative of the Prokopyevsk Muay Thai school Kirill Khomutov won his second fight in ONE. The fight ended early: in the second minute of the first round, he defeated Thai fighter Ponsiri PK Saenchai (65-13) by KO (direct punch-knee combination). For his outstanding performance, the former RCC Fair Fight title contender received the first bonus of the night of $10,000.

Now the 24-year-old Kuzbass fighter has 10 victories and two defeats. In his first fight in ONE in July this year, Khomutov also won by knockout – in the second round he knocked out Thai fighter Suakim Sor Jor Thongprajin.

Flyweight Muay Thai: Bekmurzaev vs. Ghazali

25-year-old Temirlan Bekmurzaev (7-3) showed excellent physical condition, aggression and technique, but could not reach the end of the fight against 16-year-old Malaysian phenomenon Yohan “Jo- Jo » Ghazali. In the second round of an eventful fight, the Malaysian performed a difficult combination of hands and, with a side blow to the liver, forced Bekmurzaev to fall to the canvas. The countdown to ten began and at 02:43 the victory was awarded to Ghazali (23-6), who received not only the victory that evening, but also a $10,000 bonus, as well than a contract with ONE Championship for 100 thousand dollars.
