The Russian national sambo team won 28 gold medals at the Junior World Championships held in Bishkek.
In total, Russians won 35 medals at the tournament, including three silver and four bronze.
On the final day of the championship, gold was won by Turpal Khabibulaev, Saveliy Soldatenkov, Vadim Dungerov, Kirill Knyazkov, Anastasia Trofimova, Insanat Zairbekov, Erdni Badmaev, Kirill Bedretdinov, Sofia Soluyanova, Anastasia Berezhkova and Kira Safonova.
Russian athletes participated in competitions under the banner of the International Sambo Federation (FIAS). The tournament took place from October 6 to 8, participants competed in 37 weight categories in sport and combat sambo.
