Despite the end of the fight, the bad atmosphere between the fighters continued. As usual, Cris Cyborg went to Cat Zingano after the victory to congratulate her. However, the challenger didn’t want to talk to the Brazilian and grumbled while still inside the octagon. After the event, the featherweight champion explained what her opponent said at the time of the disagreement.
Normally, I don’t really hate my opponents. I just went to thank her for accepting the fight. Then she said, ‘I don’t want to be friends with her.’ She was saying I was something like a stalker, something like that. The reality is that she started it. She started talking bad about me, and I don’t know why“.
“She tried to make it personal, and I have nothing against Cat Zingano. I have always promoted it in a nice way. She’s the girl who beat Amanda Nunes, who beat Miesha Tate, she’s a big name in the sport. And I will continue like this. I’m not going to change what I think about her. It doesn’t matter what happened tonight“, completed Cris Cyborg at a press conference.
