Manny Pacquiao has confirmed his intention to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The legendary 44-year-old boxer, who once won world titles in eight weight categories, believes that age is no barrier.
The Pinoy boxer expressed confidence in winning a gold medal for his country.
“I am grateful to the Philippine Olympic Committee under the leadership of Abraham Tolentino for recommending that I be considered for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games by the IOC.
I believe that age is not a barrier to fulfill our dreams. A clear heart and mind always finds a way to realize desires. I believe that it is not too late to achieve my dream of bringing home an Olympic gold medal in boxing for the Philippines,” Pacquiao was quoted as saying by ABS-CBN News.
It should be noted that the Philippine NOC has already sent an official request for Pacquiao’s participation in the 2024 Olympics.
