On August 20, for the first time, a Ukrainian will defend heavyweight championship belts
WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO World Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk shared his expectations from the rematch with Anthony Joshua.
The second fight between the Ukrainian and the Englishman will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia, and in it the Ukrainian will defend his heavyweight championship belts for the first time.
“I am very glad that I have the opportunity to box in a new place for me – in Saudi Arabia. It opens up new horizons. I like to travel around the world and box somewhere for the first time, somewhere for the second time, ”Usyk admitted.
“Everything I do – boxing and living – gives me great pleasure. I don’t box for money or some kind of recognition. I don’t want to be great. Many people want some kind of recognition, to be talked about, remembered about – I do not need any of this. I’m just doing it now, I’ll keep doing it as long as my heart beats. The only thing I’m going to very fast is to save my soul. And everything that happens to me is just life.
“What do I expect from Joshua? I do not expect anything from anyone, because it is a big nonsense to expect something from people. I understand that it will be different. And I’ll be different too.”
The first duel between Usyk and Joshua ended with the victory of the Ukrainian by unanimous decision. Anthony was defeated in a title fight for the second time in his career.
