Brazilian MMA fighter Charles Oliveira apologized to fans on social media after fight against Russian was canceled Islam Makhacheva and published photographs of the dissection.
Earlier, the UFC officially announced the cancellation of the lightweight title fight between Makhachev and Oliveira due to the Brazilian’s injury. The fight was scheduled to take place as part of the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi on October 21.
“Forgive me, but you understand everything,” Oliveira wrote on social media, attaching photos of a cut eyebrow.
Makhachev’s new opponent was the Australian Alexander Volkanovski, whom the Russian had already met. At UFC 284 in February 2023, Makhachev won by unanimous decision.
