On August 20, Alexander will have a rematch with Joshua
Promoter Alexander Krasyuk told with what emotions the unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk preparing for revenge against Anthony Joshua.
On August 20, Usyk will defend the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO championship belts against the background of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, which continues for the 127th day.
“We started our journey with Usyk in professional boxing nine years ago. And on the way to success, we had a good time: he became the undisputed world champion in the first heavyweight, unified heavyweight champion, and now his goal is the title of undisputed world champion [в супертяжелом весе]’, Krasyuk said.
“But on August 20 we will face a very serious opponent. And I also cannot fail to notice that our hearts and the hearts of the whole world bleed because of the events that are taking place in our homeland in Ukraine. But Ukrainians are strong, and Usyk is a true son of the Ukrainian nation. It took us a lot of effort to organize this fight, given the circumstances. And now we represent our country with hearts full of pride and purpose.”
“I wish Anthony Joshua success, a successful training camp. May the strongest win.”
The second fight between Usyk and Joshua will take place in Saudi Arabia. The fight will be broadcast live on the DAZN streaming platform.
Last fall, Usyk defeated Joshua by unanimous decision to become world heavyweight champion for the first time.
