UFC President Dana White has expressed his thoughts on the cancellation of the title fight between former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira and current UFC lightweight champion UFC, Islam Makhachev, which was scheduled to take place at UFC 294. Oliveira was forced to withdraw due to injury. He will be replaced by Australian fighter Alexander Volkanovski.
“Oliveira’s team did not call us. If they had, we would have sent them to a surgeon to sew up the eyebrow. However, they only contacted us after they had already sewn it up. I understand that they didn’t want to take risks after such a blow,” White said at the press conference.
