Athletistic/Boxing. Former eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao will not participate in the Paris Olympics. This was reported by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Earlier, the Philippine National Olympic Committee had asked the IOC to consider the possibility of special admission for the 44-year-old boxer. The Paris Olympic Games are scheduled from July 26 to August 11, 2024.

“One of the entry criteria is the age limit of 40 years, set by AIBA in 2013 for boxing competitions. After the IOC expelled the AIBA (now IBA) in 2019, it ensured that boxing would remain on the Olympic program – both at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 – to protect the interests of athletes. The IOC therefore approved the IBA technical rules for the Tokyo Olympic tournament, which did not cause discontent. The same technical rules will apply to the Paris tournament,” noted the IOC.

Manny Pacquiao has 62 victories in professional fights, 39 of which ended by knockout, 8 defeats and 2 draws.
