Russian Judo Federation (FDR) President Sergei Soloveichik told that the decision regarding the future Khasana Khalmurzaeva will be accepted within a month and a half.
On Wednesday, Khalmurzaev was temporarily suspended from competition due to a violation of the Russian Judo Federation’s internal rules, in response to the athlete’s posts on social media.
“The statement said the suspension is in effect until further action is taken.” When will it be accepted?
— In a month and a half, there will be a presidium and we will make a decision. This is not a special situation, we are all human, we all have our own emotions, we are all patriotic, we all have strong faith. Our internal regulations say that we are not a political organization, that we do not make political statements, but that we prepare to perform well in competitions. Such situations happen,” Soloveichik told .
Khalmurzaev won gold at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in the weight category up to 81 kg. He also achieved victories at the European Championships and the Universiade, as well as bronze at the World Championships.
