Hopkins: In the Lomachenko-Haney fight it was about who they decided to promote to the next level

The ex-world champion believes that there is great corruption in world boxing

Former two-weight world champion Bernard Hopkins believes that the result of the fight for the title of absolute world lightweight champion between Vasily Lomachenko And Devin Haney was unfair and predetermined.

“I’m telling you about a recent fight – Lomachenko vs. Haney. It’s about who they want to crown as the winner and promote to the next level. You don’t have to be a Harvard graduate to understand this. It’s just obvious.”

“People just say: This is boxing.” What do you mean it’s boxing? You get these reporters who are around as much as the promoters, they get these free credentials around their necks and sell their souls.”

“Boxing is still in doubt, was the fight rigged before it started? The world of power controls boxing, they decide who they can make more money from.”

Lomachenko lost to Haney in May in a fight for the absolute champion title. At the end of 12 rounds, the judges gave victory to the American champion.
