“It’s okay. We, too, will meet these challenges” – FSBI head Mamiashvili on the abolition of the ROC

President of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) Mikhail Mamiashvili commenting on the decision of the International Olympic Committee (CIO ) suspend membership of the Russian Olympic Committee (OCD ), told that Russian sport will be able to meet these challenges.

On Thursday, the IOC suspended the ROC’s membership in the organization due to the inclusion of the Olympic councils of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions in the ROC, follows from the IOC statement.

ROC head Stanislav Pozdnyakov announced on October 5 that the regional Olympic councils of the DPR and LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions had become members of the ROC. In early October 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed laws on the admission of these regions to the Russian Federation.

– So what to do? We will also meet these challenges. It’s good. Time will put everything back in its place.

“The IOC also stated that this decision would not affect the participation of Russians in neutral status.

– That’s another question. It will be necessary to examine what the conditions for participation in a neutral status will be,” Mamiashvili told .
