The World Boxing Association considered an appeal from promotion company Queensberry Promotions.

No cancellation of result. Oleksandr Usyk honestly defeated Daniel Dubois in the title fight, and the Briton really landed a low blow.

This decision was made by the World Boxing Association after considering the appeal of the promotion company Queensberry Promotions against the result of the fight.

We remind you that the representatives of the title contender requested to declare invalid the defeat of Dubois from the world champion according to the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight. The reason was the referee’s misinterpretation of the British boxer’s punch.

However, the organizing committee studied the incident with a weak blow in the fifth round of the fight and considered the actions of referee Luis Pabon to be legal so they had no reason to cancel the result of this fight.

After carefully reviewing the appeal materials, all documents and evidence presented by both the appellant and the respondent, the committee determined that the appellant’s evidence was insufficient to overturn the outcome of the Usyk- Dubois. The decision in this fight cannot be overturned.

The committee concluded that none of the video footage presented provided conclusive evidence that the referee’s decision on the low blow was incorrect. The Committee also concluded that the original call for low blows should stand as there was no argument to the contrary,” the WBA report said.

We remind you that the fight between Usyk and Dubois took place on August 26 at the Tarczyński Arena in Wroclaw, Poland. Alexander won by technical knockout in the ninth round.

Let’s remember that the famous boxer previously expressed doubts that the fight between Usik and Fury will take place.
