Russian athlete Victoria Dudakova who was previously a member of the Russian swimming team, told that before preparing for the UFC 294 tournament, she returned to pool training.
Dudakova has been swimming in Volgograd since the age of seven and has been a member of the Russian national team since the age of 13. After retiring from swimming, the athlete began practicing martial arts and made his UFC debut in 2023.
— Judging by the video of your training in Thailand, have you started swimming again?
“This time there was a big swimming pool nearby and the coach made me swim. This preparation involved more swimming.
— You said you haven’t swum with a stopwatch since you stopped playing.
— I swam, but the distance was 25 meters, which is not usually the case in major sports. And I swam them because I can’t take it anymore. But this time we were swimming in a diet, to put it mildly, for a while. There was a girl there, Mia, she works as a trainer and she gave me a lesson. And we swam between 50 and 100 meters.
— What percentage of swimmer Victoria Dudakova’s uniform remains?
– Yes, basically, there is nothing left. Maybe 5%. All muscle groups work there, but in completely different ways. I haven’t swum for a very long time, I don’t do the same loads that I used to. It’s impossible to compare. I would understand if we compared water polo and swimming, but here it is absolutely incomparable,” Dudakova told .
Dudakova will meet American Jin Yu Frey at the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi.
