Tim Tszyu proved lighter than Brian Mendoza ahead of WBO title fight

Boxers Tim Tszyu and Brian Mendoza weighed in ahead of their WBO welterweight title fight, Sporting News reports.

Tszyu turned out to be slightly lighter than Mendoza – 69.4 kg against 69.85 kg. Both athletes reached the first middleweight limit.

Tim Tszyu will make his first defense of the WBO junior middleweight belt against WBC interim champion Mendoza on October 15 in Sydney.

The son of the former absolute junior welterweight champion Konstantin Tszyu has 23 victories in the professional ring (17 by knockout). Tim Tszyu has spent all but one of his fights in Australia. Mendoza has 22 victories (16 by KO) with two defeats.

Tim Tszyu leads the world ranking of junior middleweight boxers on the BoxRec portal, Mendoza is third.
