On Sunday in Sydney, Tszyu defeated Mendoza by unanimous decision to defend his WBO junior middleweight title for the first time. The Australian representative had already won this belt without a fight when Charlo left it for a fight with Mexican Saul Alvarez, in which the American lost by unanimous decision.

Tim Tszyu is the son of former absolute junior welterweight champion Konstantin Tszyu. The 28-year-old boxer has 24 victories in the professional ring (17 by KO). Tim Tszyu has spent all but one of his fights in Australia. For Mendoza, 29, this defeat is the third of his career; he also has 22 victories (16 by KO).
