Russian fighter Kirill Sidelnikov said he was unhappy with his professional boxing debut.
On Thursday in Perm, Sidelnikov fought to a draw against Dutch kickboxer of Moroccan origin Nidal Bikiri at the Ural FC 4 tournament as part of the “Russia – a sports power” forum. For both fighters, this fight was their debut under the rules of professional boxing.
— The analysis will take some time. I think I was a little better somewhere. I accept the judges’ decision, but it is somewhat small, but the victory is mine. To be honest, I’m not satisfied with my performance. I had some strength left and I had to improve. I just kept this strength, I thought it wouldn’t be enough for four rounds. But that’s how it happened.
— Before this fight, you did not answer the question regarding future opponents. Who could be your next opponent?
— This is a difficult question that I cannot answer with certainty at the moment. This is a very strange question. I just left the ring, my head is a mess. And then about the next opponent… I certainly don’t think about it. A large camp was crossed. I boxed, I was dissatisfied with the performance, as were the coaches. I understand and accept this – I have not finalized it. And here is the question: “Who is next?”… Maybe tomorrow I will get out of bed and say: “Well, why the hell is all this necessary,” the correspondent reports, reporting Sidelnikov’s words.
Multiple combat sambo world champion, Sidelnikov has 14 victories and seven defeats in MMA. Sidelnikov fought his last mixed martial arts fight in July 2022 at the Ural FC 1 tournament, defeating Brazilian Fabio Maldonado. Before that, the fighter played in leagues such as Bellator, Rizin, Fight Nights, M-1.
