Usyk and Fury aim to fight for the undisputed title on December 23

The teams of both boxers are preparing for a fight on this date

WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO title holder Alexander Usik and WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury are targeting a fight for the undisputed title on December 23rd. British manager Spencer Brown confirmed that the teams of both boxers are counting on this date.

Earlier, promoter Eddie Hearn expressed doubt that the fight for the title of absolute champion could be held in December. According to him, Usik will need a longer period of recovery after the previous fight with Daniel Dubois.

At the end of September, Usyk and Fury signed a contract for a unification fight. The fight is planned to take place on December 23 or January 2024 in Saudi Arabia. It is expected that the exact date of the event will be announced after the fight of the “Gypsy King” with ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou.

Usyk defeated Briton Daniel Dubois in his last fight on August 26. Fury is preparing for a fight with Ngannou, which will take place on October 28.
