2020 Olympic silver medalist, two-time world champion and 2019 European Games winner Muslim Gadzhimagomedov will meet Akani Phuzi (13-2, KO 6) of South Africa in an 8-round fight in the division cruiserweight. Gadzhimagomedov’s only official fight in the professional ring took place in December 2021, when the Russian knocked out Colombian Deibis Berrocal in the second round. Gadzhimagomedov actively participates in exhibition fights – after winning the 2023 World Cup in Tashkent, the boxer scored a victory over two-time Cuban Olympic champion Julio Cesar La Cruz in Serpukhov near Moscow in August.
2023 world champion and two-time champion of Russia Sharabutdin Ataev (5-0, KO 3) will meet Azizbek Abdugofurov (14-1, KO 5) of Uzbekistan in an 8-round fight in the top heavyweight division in Dushanbe. After his victory in Tashkent, Ataev managed to hold an official fight in professional boxing – in July the Russian defeated his compatriot Nail Dzhandaliev by unanimous decision. During his career, Abdugofurov defeated Russians Hasan Gasanov, Fedor and Dmitry Chudinov, and also lost to Pavel Silyagin.
