Athletistic/MMA. Legendary MMA fighter Jeff Monson responded to insults from former UFC champion in two weight classes, Irishman Conor McGregor, against the promotion’s current lightweight champion, Russian Islam Makhachev.
“McGregor has not fought for several years and is not currently a fighter. Therefore, he is trying in every possible way to attract attention to himself through such statements.
There is no need to take all this seriously. It used to be possible, but back then he was a professional fighter, a champion. And now a lot of people think Conor is ridiculous, the Irishman is just trying to get back into the news. It doesn’t matter what McGregor says,” Monson said according to Sport-Express.
The day before, October 21, Islam Makhachev defeated Australian Alex Volkanovski by knockout in the first round during the main fight of the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
On July 10, 2021, the UFC 264 mixed martial arts tournament took place in Las Vegas (USA), in the main fight of which Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier fought. Poirier won in the first round after McGregor broke his leg. Since then, the Irishman has continued to recover from his injury. In total, the 35-year-old Irishman has 28 MMA fights: he has won 22 victories and suffered six defeats.
