Usik and Tyson will fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion
Famous American trainer Buddy McGirt explained why he considers the WBC champion Tyson Fury favorite in the upcoming fight with the Ukrainian champion and holder of the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles Alexander Usik.
“I think Fury is just too big. And he knows well how to use his size. He knows how to use it to his advantage. However, it will still be a good fight.”
“Eddie Hearn said that Fury is not eager to fight Usyk? I believe that he will fight with anyone,” McGirt emphasized.
At the end of September, Usyk and Fury signed a contract for a unification fight. The fight is planned to take place on December 23 or January 2024 in Saudi Arabia. It is expected that the exact date of the event will be announced after the fight of the “Gypsy King” with ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou.
Usyk defeated Briton Daniel Dubois in his last fight on August 26. Fury is preparing for a fight with Ngannou, which will take place on October 28.
