Athletistic/MMA. UFC lightweight champion Russian mixed martial artist Islam Makhachev thanked fans for their support in his fight against Australian Alex Volkanovski at UFC 294. The event took place on October 21 in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
“Many thanks to all my fans, to everyone who worried and supported. I am glad that I was able to resolve all questions and doubts. Now let’s move on,” Makhachev wrote on his networks page social.
Islam Makhachev, in his second fight with Volkanovski, won his 25th MMA victory. The 31-year-old Russian also has one defeat. The Australian fighter suffered the third defeat of his career, with 26 victories to his name.
Interestingly, Makhachev set a unique UFC record. He became the first fighter in history to fight three fights in a row against opponents in the top 3 of the pound-for-pound rankings (UFC rankings regardless of weight category).
