Boxers can meet again in the ring, but only under certain conditions specified in the contract.
With the possible rematch between Tyson Fury and Alexander Usik, the title of absolute world boxing champion is no longer at stake. So says Spencer Brown, manager of the WBC heavyweight title holder.
The functionary also named the main conditions for a rematch between the Briton and the Ukrainian, specified in the contract.
“It depends on how the boxers will come out of the fight. If there will be injuries, damage, cuts or maybe someone will fall – this is always taken into account. Also if they will leave the ring unscathed.
Victory, at least we assume, will be ours. We believe that our boxer is the highest in the heavyweight division, and the rematch will undoubtedly take place. This is stated in the contact. The most exciting time for boxing.
Are all the titles on the line in the second fight? I doubt it, but you never know for sure. But definitely – we are waiting for the first match, which will take place next year. I wish everyone good health and safety, and let’s just hope that the rematch happens,” Brown told Boxing King Media.
We remind you that the fight between Usik and Fury will take place on December 23 or in January next year.
Earlier, the promoter spoke about the financial terms of the fight between Usyk and Fury.
