The WBC heavyweight titleholder said he doesn’t want to hold all the belts in the division.

Tyson Fury began to say that he never asked for a fight with Oleksandr Usik because he never dreamed of becoming the undisputed champion of the world.

According to the WBC heavyweight title holder, his main goal in boxing is to win, not to hold the championship belt.

“I still don’t care about the title of absolute champion. It doesn’t mean a damn thing to me. I’ve always said that the title doesn’t mean anything to me. For me, winning a fight has real weight . If they tell me, ‘you can be the absolute champion and win all the belts without winning, or I may not be the absolute champion, but I can beat Usik in a fight for half the belt” – then I will choose the second option.

For me, the main thing is to win, to overcome the opponent in a duel, and nothing else. Always, even during the Klitschko era or earlier, this was my dream. The title of absolute champion means nothing to me. Maybe it was important to Lennox Lewis, Anthony Joshua or someone else, but I didn’t care.

In boxing, the only thing I haven’t won is the British native champion title. But I’m working hard to one day get it too. I hope I get the chance. Whoever holds this title, I’m coming for you,” said Fury in an interview with the Boxing Social YouTube channel.

We remind you that earlier it became known that the winner of the Fury-Ngannou fight will receive a special belt.
