Russian fighter Vyacheslav Datsik told he was ready to fight with Fedor Emelianenko according to the rules of boxing.
Datsik, 42, regularly fights under the rules of boxing and MMA. In his last fight under boxing rules, Datsik knocked out mixed martial arts representative Oli Thompson, and in March he lost by decision to professional boxer Kevin Johnson.
47-year-old Russian MMA fighter Fedor Emelianenko announced his retirement in February this year, but then said he would be ready to fight according to boxing rules.
— How would you characterize your relationship with Fedor, Alexander and Ivan Emelianenko?
— I don’t know Vanya personally. With Sasha, we resolved all our differences, conflicts, disagreements, and we communicate normally. We can say that we are friends (Datsik knocked out Emelianenko in a boxing fight in September 2022. – Note from ).
—A few months ago, you said you would have a boxing match with Fedor. Still interested?
— Fedya seems to have abandoned the sport after the last knockout. Although I myself said that fighting is like a drug: Fedya seems to understand that his speed has dropped, his health is no longer the same, but he is still behind. And I decided to take up boxing. Fighting is cool. Boxing is generally easy, just one or two.
— Fedor has a particular position: he always puts his left hand forward, holding the back one just below his chin. How can you get there?
– Yes Easy. You have to deceive, shoot, hit. Fedya himself is a fan of such tricks: trying to deceive and break through. He will throw single punches. Hoping to drop him in one fell swoop.
– Your head withstood many violent blows, and Fedor dropped several, just one. Do you think your head could withstand his blow?
“You can say whatever you want, but until you test it, you can’t assess whether it’s your head or your arm that’s going to break.”
— Would it be interesting to test Fedor’s punch?
– Slightly in general. My head didn’t test anything. Even a brick from his youth. The brick couldn’t take it, but neither could the head. Just for me – boom! I sat on my butt on the ground, the stars were flying and I looked at the broken brick,” Datsik told .
