Russian fighter Shovhal Churchaev spoke about a fight with Brazilian UFC fighter Paulo Costa at the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi.
The tournament took place on October 21. Initially, Costa was supposed to meet Chechen-born fighter Khamzat Chimaev in the co-main bout, but 11 days before the fight he withdrew due to arm surgery. The retired Brazilian’s place was taken by Nigerian Kamaru Usman. Chimaev won by a majority. Costa attended the tournament as a spectator.
– Costa deprived him. It’s a shame no one recorded it on video. I said, “Khamzat is crazy. “He didn’t like it,” the correspondent reports, according to Churchaev’s words.
According to Churchaev, Kosta was the first to initiate the fight. “He had to attack,” Churchaev added.
