UFC Brazilian lightweight Charles Oliveira expressed confidence that he will become the next opponent of the promotion champion in the lightweight category Islam Makhacheva .
Last Saturday, the Russian defeated Australian representative Alexander Volkanovski and defended his title. Initially, Makhachev was supposed to fight Oliveira, who withdrew from the fight two weeks later due to injury.
“Whoever the UFC decides to give to Islam, he will fight. Everyone understands that now it’s my turn. I’m in first place in the rankings, I performed well in the last fight and I’m ready to step into the Octagon. “I’m the next one to replace him,” Oliveira said according to MMA Fighting.
The last time the fighters met in the octagon was last fall, Makhachev won by choke.
Makhachev has won 25 fights and suffered one defeat, Oliveira has 34 victories and 9 defeats.
