The “Gypsy King” believes that for a world champion this is not a lot of money, unlike a simple hard worker
WBC World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury admitted how much he received for the fight with Vladimir Klitschko. The amount turned out to be comparable to the last fee of the Briton’s closest rival, the ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou.
“[Нганну] I made $600,000 for the UFC heavyweight title fight, which is about what I was paid for the Klitschko fight.”
“This is not so little. “I think to win the heavyweight title and continue to defend it, you need to beat some big names and build a name and fan base for yourself.”
“$600,000 is his biggest ever fee, and it’s a hell of a lot of money. But for the world heavyweight champion, this is not much. If I tried to make $600,000 from a regular nine-to-five job, it would probably take me about 452 years,” the Gypsy King calculated.
The heavyweight championship fight for the IBF, IBO, WBO, WBA super and The Ring titles between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko took place in November 2015 in Dusseldorf, Germany. The Briton won by unanimous decision.
The 10-round fight between Fury and Ngannou will take place on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The WBC granted Tyson special permission to fight the former UFC champion. At stake in the confrontation will be the Riyadh championship belt, which WBC President Mauricio Suleiman has already delivered to the capital of Saudi Arabia.
It is expected that immediately after this fight the final date for the unification fight between Fury and WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO belt holder Alexander Usyk will be confirmed. According to the “Gypsy King”, the meeting in the ring with the Ukrainian specified in the contract is December 23, 2023.
Fury beat Dereck Chisora by TKO in his last fight in December 2022. Ngannou will hold his first fight under boxing rules. The French-Cameroonian fighter defeated Cyril Gan at UFC 270 in January 2022 in his last MMA fight.
