“Pavlovich lived in the gym, after training he worked out for 30-40 minutes”, – the first trainer of a UFC fighter

Former wrestler of the USSR national team, coach Alexander Aloyan told how a UFC fighter Sergei Pavlovich began his studies in the Greco-Roman wrestling section in the village of Orlovsky, Rostov region.

Currently, Pavlovich’s MMA statistics are 18 wins and 1 loss. On November 12, the fighter will fight for the title of interim UFC champion against Briton Tom Aspinall. Under Aloyan’s guidance, the athlete trained until the age of 18 and completed the first adult category of Greco-Roman wrestling.

— Sergei’s family lived not far from my house. When I walked down our street to work or practice, I always saw several boys, including Sergei. As is usual for boys: they played ball and practiced horizontal bars. They had a homemade horizontal bar on the street, Sergei was constantly doing pull-ups and I saw that he was training. Such a horny guy. And he does it using different approaches: fixed bar, parallel bars. He invited them to the Greco-Roman wrestling room and asked them to come with their parents for the first time. Pavlovich came with his mother, they met, wrote an application and he was enrolled in the group.

I would say that Sergei himself said that he exists, that he is a sportsman. I came in, I started training, I immediately improved, I never missed training, I was never late. When additional tasks were given to train at home, do push-ups, pump up the abs, run across the country, he came and told me that he was at the stadium, ran 5-6 laps , through the forest, through the park. We have a village green, there was room to run.

— He said that when he was 6 years old, he did 15 pull-ups.

— 15 times? I think Sergei is a bit modest. 15 times he was able to do either, including an inversion lift, or with another element. As a small child, between 8 and 10 years old, he was quite tall, broad-shouldered and bloated. There was never anything superfluous. I always came back after training and worked independently for 30-40 minutes. When the younger group finished training, he stayed for good. Very often he and I walked home together; we were on the same path. He lived, one might say, in the hall. When he finished his first year of training, I spoke with his parents and moved him to the initial training group. It seems he was 8 years old or a little older when he started training not among his peers, but among guys a year or two older,” Aloyan told .
