The Ukrainian briefly interrupted training to attend the Fury-Ngannou fight
WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO title holder Alexander Usik emphasized that his preparation for the fight with the holder of the WBC heavyweight belt Tyson Fury is going according to plan.
“After the Dubois fight, I took a week to spend time with my family, my children, my wife, and then I moved to Kyiv for a while and stayed there. Listen, on the seventh day after the fight I was already in training. I’m currently in training camp and fully occupied with my work.
“I had to stop training for a while because I had a trip planned here [в Саудовскую Аравию]. After the trip I will return to training camp.”
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian champion previously arrived in Riyadh for the fight of the “Gypsy King” with ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou. Usik and Fury greeted and hugged when they met, after which the Ukrainian lifted Tyson up. Alexander subsequently stated that he would fight “Tyson Fury or someone else” on December 23, but believes that his opponent will still be the Briton.
Today, October 28, Fury will fight Ngannou in a 10-round fight in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. The WBC granted Tyson special permission to fight the former UFC champion. It is expected that immediately after this fight the final date for the unification fight between Fury and Usyk will be confirmed.
