“It definitely wasn’t in my plans. Ngannou is a very clumsy opponent, with a strong punch. He turned out to be a better boxer than I expected. It was one of the toughest fights of the last ten years. As for the knockdown, nothing special, I was caught behind the head, but I got up. I haven’t boxed in 11 months, but I have no excuse. Ngannou was strong. I had a long camp, now I just want to go home, rest and see what happens next,” Fury said after the fight.
The win was Fury’s 34th in his professional career, and he also has one draw. Ngannou, in turn, competed in his first boxing match.
