UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski announced his intention to fight for the title with the Brazilian in the lightweight division Charles Oliveira .
Earlier, the 33-year-old Australian made another defense, beating U.S. Rep. Max Holloway by unanimous decision at UFC 276.
– I want to appear in the octagon as often as possible. I want to continue to be active, I want to move up to the lightweight division and become a double champion. I will defend both titles! Charles Oliveira or whatever with the belt, no disrespect, but I want to be a two-time champion,” Volkanovski said in the octagon after beating Holloway.
Oliveira, 32, lost the UFC lightweight championship belt after failing to weigh in ahead of his fight with Justin Gaethje at UFC 274, in which he won in the first round via choke submission. The Brazilian tops the UFC rankings in his division.
