Russian mixed martial arts fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov told how he reached great heights in MMA.
Nurmagomedov finished his professional career in 2020. He remained undefeated inside the Octagon, where he had 29 victories in 29 fights. Nurmagomedov became UFC lightweight champion in 2018, after which he defended the title three times.
“It was in 2012, and then I told Daniel Cormier that I was going to become champion. I’ll be 10-0 in the UFC, I’ll be undefeated. I won’t say the amount, but I told Cormier what fees I would fight for. He replied that it was impossible and that no one was paid that much money in this sport. And six years later, it all came true.
The mental component is very important here, it is very important to really believe in it. If a person has a champion mentality, if he really lives it, if it is in his heart, if he is focused and ready to sacrifice his time for this, then success will inevitably come. It just takes patience and perseverance. This is what I have followed all my life since childhood. I found myself on the mats for the first time when I was three or four years old. “I’ve been training my whole life,” Khabib said in an interview on the organization’s YouTube channel.
