Russian fighter ASA Alexander Matmuratov told that he was not satisfied with the conditions for inclusion in the Grand Prix, so he preferred to meet his compatriot Yusuf Raisov .
The ASA 165 tournament will take place on November 3 in St. Petersburg, this will be the third attempt to organize a fight between fighters. Matmuratov has 15 wins and five losses in MMA; in his last fight in June, he defeated Javier Basurto in the first round. Raisov has 20 wins and three losses; the last time the fighter entered the octagon was in January, when he defeated Alain Ilunga in the second round.
— Did they believe it the first time when they talked about another attempt to organize a fight with Raisov?
— They gave me several options for my fight. Either you participate in the Grand Prix with only one participant, or the second option is Raisov. I was not satisfied with the conditions of the Grand Prix, so I chose Raisov.
— Should we expect any high-profile interviews and statements before the fight? Or has everything already been said?
— There have already been so many interviews, video conferences, etc. that there is nothing more to add. What we have said can be slotted in for several more fights. We have normal relations, we have no personal animosity. The attitude is respectful, we have many mutual friends. In life, we communicate normally and adequately.
— Could it be that your fight with Raisov will be included in the Grand Prix?
– Barely. Two of his teammates are already fighting in this Grand Prix. As I already answered, they wanted to include me in the Grand Prix, but I was not satisfied with the conditions,” Matmuratov told .
The ACA 165 tournament in St. Petersburg will be broadcast live on the “” and “Match!” Fighter”. Broadcast begins on November 3 on “Match! Fighter” at 16:40 (Moscow time) and on “” – at 21:00 (Moscow time). The fight between Raisov and Matmuratov will be the co-main event.
