The American resumed working out in the gym
Former World Heavyweight Champion Andy Ruiz said that he had surgery and would not perform in 2023.
“Hey guys, I just finished my workout. Five days after surgery and we’re back in the gym feeling good, feeling blessed and I can’t wait to get back in the ring.”
“2024 is my year, baby. Remember this. I had a little setback before the big comeback, but we’re coming back. Let’s do it,” the American wrote on social networks.
Ruiz last fought in September 2022. The former world champion defeated Luis Ortiz by unanimous decision.
Andy previously planned to fight Deontay Wilder, but the boxers were unable to reach a deal. The WBC Board of Governors in August rescinded its order for a mandatory title eliminator between the two Americans.
