Roy Jones: Fury didn’t beat Ngannou and shouldn’t fight Usyk

The legendary former world champion believes that the Briton must first take revenge against the Cameroonian.

Tyson Fury has no right to fight Alexander Usik, because he has not proven that he has the right to do so. This is what the legendary former world champion Roy Jones said.

The American boxer advised the Briton to have a rematch with Ngannou first so that fans can see the victory of a true champion.

“If we don’t go back and give Tyson Fury a rematch with Francis Ngannou and clear things up and get a real clear win, we’re only going to hurt boxing more because these things hurt boxing. Understandably so.” Fury has already signed for the Usik fight, but if Alexander, Tyson and everyone loves boxing as much as I do, we have to go back to the Ngannou fight first.

Usik’s fight with Fury means nothing. We never thought Tyson would beat Francis Ngannou. So why would he fight Usyk? Sometimes boxing needs to clean itself up. This is one of those events where people have the control and power to allow boxing to clean itself up. This is exactly what needs to be done,” Jones was quoted as saying by ProBox TV.

We remind you that Fury defeated Ngannou by split decision (96-93, 95-94, 94-95).

In the past, Ngannou has said that the referee stole his victory over Fury.
