Usik: I would really like to see Lomachenko in the ring so that he gets the fight and becomes a champion again

Vasily can fight against Kambosos in 2024

WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world heavyweight champion Alexander Usik shared his opinion about the future Vasily Lomachenko and his possible fight against George Kambosos.

“I heard rumors that Lomachenko is planning a fight with Kambosos. I have no idea when this fight might take place. Of course, this should be decided and announced by Vasily, but I would really like to see him in the ring again. I would like to see Lomachenko get the fight and become champion again. “I want this,” Usyk said.

Lomachenko fought his last fight in May 2023, losing to Devin Haney in a fight for the title of absolute world lightweight champion. After the defeat, Vasily decided to take a vacation until the end of the year.

Lomachenko’s promoter Bob Arum announced plans to organize a fight between the Ukrainian boxer and Kambosos in Australia. The fight could take place in February.

Usik’s next fight will probably be against Tyson Fury. The unification match was scheduled for December 23, but was postponed to February 2024. Let us remind you that the “Gypsy King” received two cuts in his last fight with Francis Ngannou.
