Russian judoka Sabina Giliazova won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Montpellier (France) in the weight category up to 48 kg.
In the small final, the 29-year-old athlete beat Slovenian Marusha Stangar with an ippon technique. For Gilyazova, this bronze medal at the European Championship became the second of her career; in 2021, during the tournament in Lisbon (Portugal), she also became the third.
Russians participate in competitions in France as neutral individual athletes. This is the first medal for national athletes at the tournament.
