Bronze medalist of the 2022 Olympic Games Madina Taimazova won a silver medal at the European Judo Championships in Montpellier (France) in the weight category up to 70 kg.
In the final, the 24-year-old athlete lost to Frenchwoman Marie-Eve Gaye, who passed an ippon test. Gaye, 26, is the 2019 world champion and winner of the 2022 European Championship.
Russians participate in competitions in France as neutral athletes.
