Athletistic/ MMA. US mixed martial artist Sean O’Malley has called for a change in the shape of the gloves worn by MMA fighters, implying that the gloves were the reason his fight with Munoz was cut short.

“We have to do something about the gloves. Because when you put them on, they make your hands open. And they have to be held tight. I think if we had gloves that would make our hands clench into a fist, that would help a lot,” O’Malley said.

On July 2, 2022, Sean O’Malley fought Brazilian Pedro Munoz at UFC 276 in Las Vegas. In the 4th minute of the second round, due to a punch from O’Malley in the eye of Munoz, the fight was stopped. The Brazilian fighter complained that he didn’t see anything, so the fight was ended ahead of schedule and declared invalid.
